Hi guys!

Ramadan Kareem!

Yup yup, I'm pretty late on the "Ramadan Kareem", but I started this post on the first day of Ramadan and I haven't been able to finish it. Well, looks like it's kicking off quite well. As you have noticed, I've been suffering from the "not-quite-feeling-up-to-blogging" syndrome and have definitely been reading any article I stumble upon to get rid of it, so pleeeeaasse stick with me. For those that come here still even when I decided to take a leave without notice, thank you!!! I see you!

However even in my disappearance(s), I still make sure to keep up with other bloggers immediately I receive their updates (By the way have you subscribed to my blog yet? If not, please do!) and I absolutely LOVE how insightful and fun their posts are. Makes me sometimes look at my posts and be like "Duuuudeeee, why aren't you putting up more insightful posts?"

Please leave a great topic idea or topic ideas in the comment box below of anything you'd love to see. I know you're reading....hehe. Pretty please?

Also this is my birth month! #JuneBaby and my birthday is in ten days! Whoooop! I sort of mentioned a certain gift I want for my birthday in this post and I'm still very much open to that miracle hehe (You never know how whoosh-y these things might decide to turn out). Should I do a post on the list of things I wish for my birthday? My fairy godmother/father could be out there oh! Eyyy e fit be you oh! Hehe

Without digressing too much from the topic and in the spirit of putting up insightful posts, these are the topics from different bloggers that I've been finding insightful and fun so far (The ones I've read ni oh):

You guys know how much I LOVE Sisiyemmie, right? I especially love her posts and their variations. It's always an interesting read, whether all text or the posts with embedded videos in them. Check out these posts on:

I watch some of Berry's "pre-posts" on snapchat and then it's amazing to have to read them in texts. I recently just started frequenting her blog and her posts x vlogs are really amazing. Some of the ones I found really delightful are:

There's this feel to Tuke's posts: She'd write them so well that it'll feel like you're there. Then after that, you'd feel like having the same experience for yourself - or more. I especially love these posts on:

Dami is pretty chic with her fashion and lifestyle posts. Though she specializes in fashion, her non-fashion posts are also always interesting to read. I first noticed her on Instagram and have been stuck to her blog name since then. See below these posts on:

Wow, Chaitra is one blogger that I'd say I get most of my inspiration from. They probably don't manifest here, but they're absolutely there. When motivation wears off, I go back to her site. The posts are sitting there, right? So why not just go back and re-read it?! It's like she's in your mind and knows what you need. One time, I almost read her whole blog because there were such informative and inspiring materials on there! Another interesting part is, she sends you a monthly photo pack for free! Super gorgeous photo packs! This poster is from one of her packs. See how beautiful it is?

Just check out these beauties:

Sometimes, I like to find bloggers I haven't heard of through comments and that was how I got to know about The Cocopolitan. The name was really intriguing, so I went over to her website and it was so clean and the posts were just yelling "click me!" hehe. See some of my faves:

4. Pink Suit, Pink Suit (I hate oink, but...this is good!)
5. Fashion hacks (Ooh I love hacks! This one is a personal favorite)

She does more of personal fashion and lifestyle and is also fantastic at it. There are loads of tips to learn from, including blogging.I made a review of her Blog planner in April. You should buy it if you haven't, they're amazing!

NB: For more consistency, I've decided to only be putting posts up on Mondays and Thursdays. I really would love to keep this space going and I always appreciate your support!

Please don't forget to subscribe :)

Till next time,

Hi guys!

I was at Live Your Dreams Africa 2016! I mentioned that in my last post (Have you read it?). I first heard about LYDA last year on Detuke's blog, but couldn't go as I had prior engagements so I decided to go for this year's edition (especially after hearing how great it was from all angles). I was slightly ill a day before and almost decided not to go, but I somehow dragged myself there. Hmmm if I had not gone ehn, I would've *** (Insert a word relating to regret here) hmm...ok!

The event was meant to start at 9, but didn't start till about some minutes past 10 as they were showing us the clip from last year's edition. I was rolling with laughter and regret that I didn't come last year. I went with my friends Nneka and Sandra. Nneka is a fantastic scriptwriter and poet. You should check out her blog here.

Sandra on the other hand, is a make-up artist. I met her on the set of a just concluded feature film that we shot a while ago. (There's this picture collage of me and Saka and Mr. Aderupoko on my IG account; see how dark I was there? The set did that to me). Sandra is great with special effects! Check out her Instagram page @sandraoyianamakeup.

Speaking of Sandras, I met Sandra N.U of NGND, Ekene of TheKinkandI and Ebun Oluwole!!! You should check out NGND's blog if you haven't already. Love the new look, girl! It's.....Yummy!
Detuke was there too and though she was really busy, I managed to get a picture. Been a while we met at an event and actually took a picture.

By the way, if you haven't already, please follow me on Instagram @lolaogunnupebi. I'll be very happy to connect!

I loved the setting on the stage. It was cool. They also had projectors for those who couldn't see the stage directly. I thought that was amazing.

The event finally started with the MC (Akin Adesoji) setting the mood for concentration...and he was effortlessly good at it. He introduced the convener - Mr. Bankole Williams, who gave a few inspiring words before calling in a representative of Ringier Nigeria to give a few Digital Marketing tips. We also had a fantastic dance routine from One World and also some really good spoken word from a lady called Princess. She was fire! I sure hope to perform spoken word at the next year edition too.
RINGIER NIGERIA REPRESENTATIVE

BANKOLE WILLIAMS

The first Speaker was Adesua Etomi. Her picture wasn't on the flier, but I was so excited to see she was there and she sure gave us some background into her magic. The panelist was Aderonke Adebanjo. (Have you seen the trailer of her new show on Ndani TV? It's called "Make Me Over").

This volunteer didn't let my pictures be great hehe

Ejiro Amos - Tafiri also had a pretty insightful share into her journey as a Fashion Designer.
Kelechi Amadi-Obi and Ali Baba were just too hilarious. They had tostand up at a point to talk because that was what the nature of their jobs required and they were used to it...hehehe

See my struggle with this volunteer? phew
Most of the experiences they talked about as creatives resonated quickly with me because I had just experienced the exact thing some days before. I wrote a flash poem about it on Instagram

Toke Makinwa had some really great quotes that just fired me up! It was amazing seeing Waje for the first time. I loved the way she kept transitioning into pidgin and back. It made the event less serious, yet insightful.

We had a 15-minute break in between and I got to take a few pictures. I would've taken pictures of the food, but apparently I haven't mastered the art of food photography because, I ate it all up! #Foodie *face palm*

Look! I captured some food!

Detuke and Ejiro Amos Tafiri

I would say that the session with Mr. Cosmas Maduka, the CEO of Coscharis Group held us in both smiles and tears. That man is one to keep learning from. He has such a rich, knowledgeable life and his faith and perseverance - based on his life's story, as told to us - was just too wow. On this same session, we had the Special Adviser to the Governor on Education. Mr. Obafela Bank - Olemoh, a very humble man to the core. He had a bit of a similar story to Mr. Maduka's, which made this session more fun.

Takeaways (Inspiring Quotes and Advices):

They all said a lot, these were some of the takeaways I got from some of them.

1. To sell your product, don't start with ALL social media channels, start with ONE. Go to the Social Media Niche where your target market mostly is and start from there. - Ringier Nigeria Rep, Mr. Ibukun Onitiju

2. You need to understand your journey, because you'll meet a lot of people that will tell you how to get there. - Adesua Etomi

3. Don't forget to pray - Adesua Etomi

4. Your creative work is an extension of yourself. That's how you have an identity. - Ejiro Amos-Tafiri

5. No more excuses. I will not make any more excuses. - Ejiro Amos-Tafiri

6. There's 24 hours in a day, how many of those hours will you spend watching videos of people who are already where you want to be? - Bankole Williams

7. Start seeing what you desire - Bankole Williams

8. There's value in what you do. If they cannot see that value, they don't deserve your work. - Kelechi Amadi-Obi

9. Until your dream is converted to a service, it is just a dream. -Alibaba

10. Keep re-inventing yourself so that people will keep coming to fetch from you. - Alibaba

11. You have to be dynamic. Change has to be your comfort zone. Constantly re-invent yourself. - Kelechi Amadi-Obi

12. Don't try to climb a tree from the top, you'll fall off. - Toke Makinwa

13. In life, God takes you through the stairs, not the elevator. - Toke Makinwa

These are only a few of the takeaways I got. They were too much! Well good thing it's an annual event, right? You can start planning for the next year edition

Till next time,
xx

Hi guys! How have you been?!

It's been quite a while since I came here and quite a while before that, I'm so sorry. First my busy schedule got in the way, then laziness set in after that, or should I say I just decided to rest in for longer.

A quick catchup on what I've been up to: I've been on a movie and series production set as the Production Assistant and these productions were amazing! I'll definitely put up posts about them when they're about to air or be premièred.

Last Saturday, I was at the fourth edition of Live Your Dreams Africa (I'll write extensively about my experience and takeaways in another post and I was entrepreneur-ally blessed. Literally. You have no idea. I've come to see that creating magic could feel very unique and fun. An icing on the cake would be the fact that someone else is also having fun using and implementing what you've created.

Just like its meaning implies, it's a fantastic feeling to know you've done something that people love. If you do create magic that only you love, don't pass out on the fun of creating it, it just means that there's another form of magic waiting to be tapped and you've been able to create it.

My friend, Haneefah Adam from this post and this post created magic in the past week and the internet have been and is still raving about it.

PHOTOS BY HANEEFAH ADAM
Before then, she had created an earlier magic that had appealed so much to the Islamic community. That tells you that there's no limit to the magic you could create.

PHOTO : HANEEFAH ADAM
Just make sure to be authentic!

I'm currently creating a magic of my own. It's still in the works and I'm really excited. To top it all off, I have really really really amazing friends and family that are doing everything in their power to take that journey with me. Sometimes, you don't have to create magic all on your own, so as this week starts on yet another fresh page, please try to make magic. No pressure. If it doesn't come this week, it sure will come another week.

P.S: I joined in on this interesting hashtag #The100DayProject where based on your skill, you could share something creative everyday for 100 days. I've been sharing some of mine on twitter @LolaOgunnupebi and on Instagram, @dm_lola. Please see these channels to check them out. You could also participate if you're interested, it's not too late to join the ride. Thanks!

Finally, sip some Coke, all is well with the world. Hehe

Hey guys!
Happy New Week!!!

Hope you had a great weekend? My weekend was awesome! I visited one of my closest friends yesterday and we had such a beautiful time catching up. His name is Hameed and he owns and designs the Hingees shirts from this post. There’s more to come from Hingees this year. Trust me guys, YOU’LL LOVE IT.

Were you able to see any of the movies from my last post over the weekend? If you missed it, go read it now! There are really great movie insights for entrepreneurs, I promise.

Today’s word for the week is AMEN.

Religious sentiments aside, I think this word should always come up in our vocabulary everyday – it should even become an unconscious part of our lives and decisions.

Source

As an assertion to something working out for good in terms of expectations or results, Amen creates this feeling of optimism towards those big risks and steps that we, as humans tend to feel when we see our lives heading a different and better destination.

Source
Honestly, I've never thought of adding this word to my daily vocabulary till I started writing this post and I'm absolutely willing to start doing that. You can also do that. It’ll be our thing…hehe! There’s also the religious/spiritual advantage it poses for us – a higher authority that will guide us through those paths we want to take.

Source

P.S:  If you’re an aspiring Graphic Designer,/Art Director, Copywriter or Entrepreneur and in Ibadan or you can make it down there, then the Ibadan Creative Workshop is for you. It’s coming up on the 16th of this month and you don’t want to miss it. Three of my friends who are fantastic at their jobs will be there! Please see poster for details.

If you meet anyone of them, tell them you got the info from my blog! Their names are Hameed Okunade, Fu’ad Lawal, Wahab Abubakar.

What do you think about the impact of this word on our lives?
What does “Amen” mean to you?

Hey guys!
It’s Friyay!

So after reading this post from Naijagirlnextdoor, I decided to create my own look.

My impatience set in, but even it wasn’t enough to not let me be great). It’s really pretty and I got fantastic comments on it. I definitely recommend it as a go-to protective style.

Hi guys!

Happy hump day! Hope your week has been looking good? I've had my hands on quite a few things lately (exciting news coming soon). One of these exciting things however, include planning my posts with the Cassie Daves Blog Planner ( and planning the review) hehe.
.
Walahi, truth be told ehn... I don't plan my posts. At all. I've tried sometimes with my laptop and phone, but don't even remember to check. Using the planner though, I've had ideas flowing at me because it has this "creative guide" kind of feeling that just makes you want to do more with your personal space!

I left it in its packaging for days hehe... It was so fine, I couldn't open it for a while *face palm*

It also came with this cute little note, I was like awwww when I saw it, you rock, Cassie!

Did I mention it was affordable?

The design alone is just so cool.

You can plan your posts for the entire month and even get to add some jara if you want. See what I did with mine :) Peep today's plan *grins*

It also has inspiring quotes on the cover page of every month. Tells you there's awesomeness waiting to be created for the whole month!

The idea page is awesome. Goals can be planned and reviewed on another page at the end of the month too. There's also a great checklist to help with great social media improvement

You could plan shoots ahead. One of my favorite pages!

There's time to plan for a list of potential guests to feature so you can contact them early. It came with this cute little note that has 50! ideas for blog posts. In fact, this blog post came from there and subsequent ones will come from it too. You see the help its bringing already?

I really enjoy using this planner. Can't stress that enough. For details on how to get this planner, kindly go over to Cassie's blog. It's pre-order too so you can place your order on time. The process is seamless.

Berry also did a review of the planner here. Check it out :)

Do you have the Cassie Daves Blog Planner?  What are your thoughts?

Hi guys!
How do you like my new blog look? I mentioned in my last post that I was undergoing some research on how to make the blog look better. By the way, did you enjoy the playlist?
I've made a few changes compared to what it looked like before, so Yay or nay? I'll really love to hear from you (Silently praying : please let it be Yay)
Word for the week is something I've started, where I look for positive words to motivate your Monday or your week's success. Do you think it's a good idea?

***
Feasible:
When I'm working on something and I want to include a certain measure that I think might work, for example, I decided to print thank you cards to go with every delivery of the clothes I make. These cards will have my contact information on them and also a lovely sentence thanking the client for their purchase.
I began to ask myself if that measure was feasible because I had to cut costs at the time and couldn't afford to print cards that might not work. I won't lie to you, guys. I don't even know if the card is working or not. I just know I've gotten my name out there somehow.
Feasibility is important for great steps. You just have to refine your decisions in the best possible way that you can for your sake and for other people's sake. I wish you immense success in your positive endeavors!
I hope you have a jolly feasible week!

P. S: How do you like my new blog name? I think it's better than the previous name. LO is an acronym for my name (Lola Ogunnupebi) and I think the word Sincerely just makes it feel more original. You like?

*** Please don't forget to subscribe to my blog. I want you to get first hand information on exciting things that I post! Like errrm....a, give-away maybe? hehe. Subscribe now! ***

Till next time,

Yay it's a new month! And a Friday too - Friyay!
2016 has been quite eventful for me so far, how has yours been? If it hasn't been looking according to plan yet - don't worry, success is just around the corner!

For the first time, I started using the Cassie Daves Blog Planner (Review coming up soon) and right from the ordering to the delivery process, it was a truly jolly ride. I won't lie, I've been getting really creative with that planner, thanks Cassie! If you want to purchase it but need a convincing review, not to worry! Berry has written one here and really, I recommend this planner.

I'm also working on a new design for the blog and economic ways to make my posts look really good. Still researching, but I'll put in some links in later posts for those who would like to check out some great tips.

So I've selected a total of 5 songs for this week's playlist in no particular order:

1. Mark My Words - Justin Beiber

Source

2. Remedy - Adele

Source

3. Ayo - Femi Leye

Source

4. All I Want Is You - Banky W Featuring Chidinma

Source

5. Start Again - Falana

Source

P.S: These selections were made from my playlist and I fought so hard to not include Ed Sheeran in the mix. People that know me well understand my huge love for Ed, hehe.

I hope you have fun with the playlist this weekend!

Till next time,

Love,
LO xx

Hey guys:)
Happy New week! Hope the previous week was great?
Mine was quite eventful and fun.

So I went for the movie screening hosted by 48-hour Film Project Lagos last Thursday, because I was part of the team (Team Feu Bleu) that submitted a short film for competition late last year. Our film is titled "Caught Up", hence the title.

The concept of the 48-hour film Project Lagos is to write, create, film and produce a 7-minute video in two days. Whichever team that wins gets to represent Lagos, Nigeria at Filmapalooza and vie for Best 48-hour Film Project Film of 2015. Each team will pick a genre to make a film with on the kick-off day and also, they have to include a central prop, a line and a character that has to show in the film. My team Picked "Suspense/Thriller" and the prop was a banana, the line was "I just came back from Ibadan" and the character was Emeka/Ebere Okoye. That was difficult and fun at the same time.

They also gave out awards in different categories - Best Screen-writing, Best Cinematography, Best Use of Character, Best Use of Prop, etc. My Team won Best Cinematography.

So in other news, My Secondary School is turning 60!!! Whooooop!!! I wish I could've attended because I never get to attend any of these things - Since 2008 - but I have a prior engagement that day. #ProudExmayStill.

I was also at The Essence Modest Fashion Fair and had loads of fun with my friend Haneefah Adam (I mentioned her in this post) and also met Habiba Da Silva! How cool is that? I didn't get to model for her that day due to some minor hiccups, but I got something better. I purchased two beautiful scarves and 5 sets of magnetic pins. They were amazing!

To top it all off, I got 10% discount in advance of any order I make on her online shop once her website goes live. You can get it too - here. I promise there are beautiful modest wears and accessories you will LOVE on that site. I'll talk about the event in my next post.

How was last week for you?
Slay better this week!
Till next time,
Love, Lo.
