WOW! 6,000 readers and counting? Thank you!!!! to all my readers. Thanks for coming here despite my lazy discrepancies. And YES! I'm celebrating my 30th post as "old" as my blog is *wide guilty grin*. Can you imagine my yeye self?

And I was told that my google+ comments format didn't allow others to comment....I'm so so sorry! Please bear with me. I've rectified that now. Please comment away! :D

Anyways, guess what? To appease ze gods hehe, and because you're such an A-MA-ZING reader, I'm copying Sisiyemmie (for today alone oh..Lol) and giving out recharge cards to the first person that makes a comment on this post, telling me what you think about my blog generally! Whoop! Leave your e-mail in the comment box and I'll send you a mail right after. Comment away! (Nigerians alone, as I'm not sure what to do about foreign recharge cards), but don't worry, my foreign readers! Your voucher will come in soon enough. *e-hugs*

How did your weekends go? Mine was quite eventful, which is pretty much unusual. With all my mouth, I never go out on weekends. I went on a fun date on Saturday and didn't want to go home...hehe :D (please don't tease me for details *shy*) and on Sunday, Tuke and I attended the Savvy and Chic garden party. I had fun!!! The hospitality was heavenly and the food....hmmm divine! Ok, I didn't want to share pictures yet because I'm waiting for the ones Tuke took, but I'll share the ones from other bloggers.

                                                                             Hello! :*

How has your week been? I know, it's looking like I only post on Thursdays abi? I'm sorry! Only a coincidence.. I'm supposed to post #ThankfulThursday today, but I'm postponing it till Monday because of this entry.

So I stumbled upon this blog run by Jessica Iwayemi via Facebook with such a captivating title and decided to check it out. It was about a series of "two-sentence" images that made a horrifying sense and how writers were challenged to create a story around any one or more of these images.

I picked the image above and below is my entry:

***

The scenery was breath-taking.
Everywhere had decorations of the only two things I called beautiful: Flowers and Food. I walked by having just gotten to the venue in my neatly tapered suit – I also forgot to mention that I adored fashion in its every form.
My little niece, being the angel she was, ran towards me. Her smile makes my world. Even though her father – my brother – got the girl of my dreams, we had to make peace when Zoe came into our world of brawls. She melted my heart. Who knows, maybe I love her that much because she had a piece of Santana in her.
In her usual fashion, beaming with smiles all over in her gorgeous floral white dress picked by yours truly of course; screaming “Uncle!” “Uncle!” while her mother watched with so much curiosity as to the kind of relationship I had with her daughter.
I walked towards the house, holding Zoe and scanning the place for possible past faces. You know those family members that remind you of how you grew in their arms or how they knew your first word? Yes those. I loved parties only when Zoe was a part of it.
She started the usual things that intrigued me about her. Talks of how Harper or Richard had thought she was dumb and were pulling boy stunts on her in class….I wonder what kids as small as this were thinking at this age! I usually just laugh hard with her stories. She knew how to make me smile. “Sweetheart, always know you’re the best there is until you decide otherwise”, I would always tell her and she got so used to it, she would chorus it with me.
I felt a nudge on my right shoulder with an “Oh my God! I’m so sorry!” following it. I turned amidst Zoe’s rants and saw a breath-taking ray of colors in form of a human. It took some time to bring me back to reality as she had been saying sorry and was expecting a response while my mouth opened in awe and my eyes were stuck on her.
What brought me back was “A fly is coming in your mouth soon”. Oh I hate flies!. “Hmm?” was all I could mutter. Then she apologized again and I replied saying “I’m Xavier. Nice to meet you too” She smiles and walks away in a manner I couldn't fathom. At this point, Zoe was looking at me with such excitement saying: “Uncle? How come you went off on Jasmine so much?”
“Oh that’s her name?”
“Yes. She was mom’s junior back in school”
“Ooh.”
Not getting an answer, she went on to continue her usual gist, making different turns and jacking herself up on my laps with so much passion and energy while she spoke. But you bet I wasn't where Zoe was. I was in Jasmine land in two seconds. I began imagining us going out on a date and having so much fun. I imagined us sharing our most intimate secrets and her smile was on the way to beating Zoe’s.
While I was in this moment I smiled and grinned from ear to ear and suddenly found myself in my car. I guessed I had zoned out and left the party though I wasn't really there in the first place. I kept thinking of how to see Jasmine when I heard a large thumb on my legs. I began to feel myself tumble and everything was thinning out and fading away in a rush. I felt sleepy….draggy…pained…empty.
In my head was beep. beep. beep. and something that sounded like “coma” I was out, but I wasn't. I thought I heard Jasmine. Never knew I was that crazy for her. I went back into thoughts and fantasies about making a move on her soon.
I was having a pleasant dream, when what sounded like hammering woke me. After that, I could barely hear the muffled sound of dirt covering the coffin over my own screams.

What do you think about the short story? What do you think I should've done better or didn't do well? Would really love to hear your view!
I would be posting the other images in my next post in case you're interested. You can either write and post on your blog or send to my e-mail dammilolang@gmail.com to put it up here. Would LOVE to hear from you! Be sure to tag Jessica and I in the post if you're posting on your blog. Let's flex our writing muscles! :D
Do have a fab rest of day..
God bless us all!

Hello, beautiful people!

How has your week(s) been going? As for moi, ah kent wait for the weekend! I've got crafts to do..yay!
So on our way back from a pretty interesting meeting yesterday, my boss decided to stop at a certain "Cane Village" located under Maryland bridge. He was talking about it with such excitement; my colleague and I couldn't wait to see the place.

I think this was my best of all the edits :D

Talk about talent...Oh My God! There's talent in this Nigeria that'll always be useful in generations to come. My phone was handy, but I couldn't take much pictures at all. Was taking a picture of a lovely chair when one of the weavers mouthed something like "Don't take pictures here" or that was what I thought. And I'm this shy kind of person like that, that was my first time taking pictures for a post like that so I just stopped taking pictures! :D I like my face gaan. Ah can't coman spoil it because of pishur. (Plus I don't have a career in photography, so..) *gigantic excuse!*
The foine chair that almost got me the beating of my life hehe :D

Anyhoo, its amazing (like my boss would say) how these people bend canes to form beautiful works of art...Baby cots, bags, cushion-like chairs, fabric boxes, the list goes on and on! The only complain I have about the environment is the shabby way it looks.
Without further senrenre, see the rest of pictures after the cut. (I had to edit the look of the pishur and of kels watermark it! :D)
Do you see what I'm seeing? I see me some sleep for the weekend!

See this little cute "bag"

We even noticed they had their own association right under the bridge! Was hoping they woulda decorated that place with canes and exploited their own talents for their personal use. If you have the time, you should go visit. You might end up wanting to be used to make cane art! Loool And if you get the chance for more pictures, unlike me wey dey fear, biko tag me in the post!

I love me some pictures :D

So because of Tuke of Tuke's Quest and of kels, YOU my "peopleses" I'm putting another word game on this post.

Name any word/words that has the letters p, d, g and m in it/them.

Have a delicious weekend!
Love,

Hope you like my design skills? :D

Hope your day is looking gorgeous so far? Well mine is piecing up bit by bit, I can only look up to God! Hmmm I had such a short, restless and sick day yesterday. You kent buhliv it! I sooooo want menstrual cramps gone! Hate the way they define my day most times!

So, without much dillydallying and merrygorounding (In Frank Donga's voice), I was looking through one of my "Not-so-journals", (I make almost every fine notepad I see my "Journal" and I barely keep them. Don't worry, issnor only this blog that I'm disappearing from. Am I forgiven yet?) I stumbled upon a write-up I had penned down on one of my "moody-cancerian" days. I guess I was thinking about children at the time.

Kindly read through, and add whatever line you think should've been included in the piece. We are all born writers! All we need to do is just pick up the pen and Scribble! :D Enjoy..
